In the midst of the hot summer season, the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) carried out, between 19-20 June 2024, a nationwide verification campaign of moduleui marketing and labeling of natural waters and soft drinks, inclusive respecting the storage temperature a their.
Thus, they were carried out, in just two days, 180 control actions and, for the detected irregularities, ANPC commissioners applied, up to this point, the following sanctions:
- acontravention orders, in total value over 770.000 lei
- 11 warning
- the definitive stop from marketing about165.000 liters of natural water and non-conforming soft drinks.
" Economic operators must understand the importance of storing water and soft drinks in optimal conditions and respecting the indications given by the manufacturer in this regard, in order not to endanger the health or life of consumers"- Sebastian Hotca, interim president of ANPC.
The main deviations from the legislation in force in the field are:
- irregularities regarding the way of marketing and labeling al products
- failure to observe the storage temperature a products (storage under direct sunlight)
- the marketing of products with an expired minimum durability date
- marketing of products with organoleptic changes
- storage of products directly on the floor
- the sale of products with damaged packaging
- inconsistencies between the price of the products displayed on the shelf and the one charged at the cash register
- cinappropriate wavesăZoar of storage: unsanitized shelves, products covered with a layer of dust, cobwebs, undiscarded packaging, pallets with peeling paint
