Between 29.07 - 09.08.2024 National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) carried out, at the level of the entire country, o series of actioni de check a moduleui labeling, presentation and advertising of soft drinks, juices and fruit nectars.
They were controlled 641 economic operators (distributors, shops, petrol stations and manufacturers), la 516 of them being FOUND deficiencies.
At the same time, a was checked a quantity of about 245.000 liters of soft drinks, juices and fruit nectars, plague 84.000 liters of theseFailure the legal provisions in force regarding consumer protection.
After deficiencies found, ANPC commissioners au appliednext PENALTIES:
• 416 fines amounting to approx 2 million lei
• 206 warnings
• definitive stoppage and withdrawal from marketing about 6.500 liters of soft drinks, nectars and fruit juicese, worth over 42.000 lei, which were unfit for human consumption.
"I recommend consumers to pay special attention to the product packaging, not to buy juices or soft drinks whoseorpackaging is damaged or deformed, consume the products in a relatively short time after opening, according to the directions on the label, and to refuse the purchase of products whose minimum durability date is exceeded” – Sebastian Hotca, interim president of ANPC.
From the irregularities encountered we mention:

- non-compliance with the conditions regarding the storage and sale of soft drinks, juices and fruit nectars (at ambient temperature ambient, under direct sunlight, and not in a "cool place", as indicated by the manufacturers, directly on the pavementetc.).
- the use of unsanitized refrigeration equipment, with massive accumulations of dust, impurities etci mold, cu deposit and leftover products and packaging
- the use of refrigeration units used, with rusty grates
- incorrect commercial practices (use of fruit images on labels, in reality, among the ingredients are various flavors or concentrates from the respective fruits)
- lack of display or display in an illegible, equivocal form of prices
