The leadership of the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC), namely Sebastian Hotca - interim president, Mihai Culeafă - vice president and Paul Anghel - general director, had a meeting with the representatives of the associative structures of people with disabilities, from Romania, led by Daniela Tontsch - president of the National Disability Council from Romania (CNDR), to discuss the common course of action following the appearance in the Official Gazette a computercommunity no. 579 from June 4 2024 alVice-President ANPC, with powers of president, regarding the information of consumers who fall into the category of persons with disabilities, by operators economic, in relation to their access to the services of public transport of people, in the buildings owned by them.
During the meeting, the parties agreed to diversify and elaborate over time, of the provisions of the Order, thiseto be one first extremely important step in regulation the way in which society can concretely support people with disabilities, in public transport and in spaces owned or managed by them. Also, the details of an important information campaign regarding the rights of consumers with disabilities and the ways in which they can contact ANPC in the simplest way, in the case of reporting irregularities, were established.
" I think the Order will lead to improveanger services deliveryhour of public transport, making them more accessible and friendly for people with disabilities, leading to an overall increase in the quality of public services.
There is a misperception that only expired food or defective household products need to be reported to ANPC.

The main provisions of Order 579 from June 4 2024refers to the obligations of economic operators who carry out activities of public transport of people, including air as well as cei who carry out activities in real estate or premises where ramps or other access options for disabled people cannot be installed or have not yet been provided, have the obligation to provide information clear and fair consumers who fall into this category, regarding their method of access in the means of public transport of people, in buildings or related spaces.
The display of this information is required by this Order, and THE which activates in transportationul road, rail and naval public.
Also, opublic transport operators, including airports, they have the obligation to puta, on each one platform/shelter/station in front of which the means of public transport will stop, special markings and informative panels, as well as visible instructions (simple, concise, intuitive and understandable icons) regarding boarding and alighting of disabled persons from means of transport, including regarding the driver's obligation/rail/ship traffic controllers to inform disabled persons about the station where they are going to disembark and la the concrete way in which they will be supported. The display must be done by means that can come in support to any person with disabilities, regardless of the disability they suffer from.
The obligation to provide assistance is also specified, lthe request of people with locomotor disabilities, by vehicle drivers/railway/ship traffic controllers for getting on/off public transport.
The order will enter in force within 30 days from the date of publication in the Official Gazettel.
