Press release

Following the checks carried out by the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC), in the Dr. Max pharmacy chain, the control teams found the use, both in the pharmacies and in the advertising spots in the mass media, of the phrase "Dr. prices". Max from small".
This was considered an unfair commercial practice with national impact, considering that, through this wording, it is suggested to the average consumer that Dr. Max pharmacies have the lowest prices of some products compared to others pharmacy chains, a fact that could not be proven.

As such, at the beginning of February this year, by an Order of the President of ANPC, Horia Constantinescu, it was ordered to stop this unfair commercial practice, because the advertising message contains false information, intended to mislead or which is likely to mislead the average consumer, offering the prospect of a material advantage, when purchasing products. The misleading nature of this practice is determined by the fact that it does not explain, concretely, what the said advantage of the consumer consists of (whether it is a reduced price or the advantage conferred by the purchase of a superior quality good).

The order of the ANPC president was brought to the attention of the economic operator, immediately, and he started the necessary steps to implement the ordered measures. Thus, the advertising message has already been removed from the existing monitors in the pharmacies and from the existing campaigns in progress, following that, in the shortest possible time, it will be completely replaced in all the commercial communications of the operator.
