Theme park in the center of the Capital, temporarily stopped from functioning by ANPC

Following a complaint, the Commissionerate for Consumer Protection Sector 1 (CPCS 1) Bucharest carried out a control action at the park managed by SC Dino Life SRL, located in Piața Victoriei, in the Capital, in the courtyard of the National Geological Museum.

The detected deviations from the legislation in the field led the commissioners of CPCS 1 to apply the following sanctions:

- contravention fines worth 11.000 lei

- definitive cessation of marketing and withdrawal from the market of dangerous toys (about 11.000 pieces, worth over 110.000 lei)

- banning the use of recreational equipment (5 dinosaurs)

- temporary stoppage of service provision, until the deficiencies are remedied.

" It is inconceivable that some economic operators take advantage of the innocence and desires of children, of their favorite characters and attract them to such locations, putting playgrounds into operation without having any permits, not even ISCIR permits, so that the lives of children who arrive in these places to be put in real danger.

Such actions are intolerable and will be firmly sanctioned by our Authority, until they disappear" - Sebastian Hotca, interim president of the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC).

Among the most important irregularities we mention:

- the use of some walkways for visiting the exhibits in the leisure area, originally arranged with artificial grass and sawdust, but currently being unhygienic and in an advanced state of degradation, with unevenness, with a network of electrically powered cables in sight, representing a real danger to children

- the use of leisure equipment for which the risk and maintenance analysis could not be presented and for which there is no information on how to use

- the sale of dangerous toys, notified on the alert system for non-food products of the EU, RAPEX, and of toys without identification elements in Romanian.
